It sounds like RAM to me...
I wouldn't increase the virtual memory I would leave that to windows to manage as that can cause different problems.
Try to clean as much junk off your computer.
Goto start > run
Type "msconfig"
choose "Selective Startup"
Then untick "Load Startup Items"
Then click apply and then ok, itll prompt you to restart and you should choose yes.
I would disconnect from the internet as this will shut all your AV and firewall down if they run at startup.
Open your document and see if that works?
