chef, how come plant proteins are counted as carbs?? as a snack i used to drain a can of baked beans off and munch on them cos its got 20g protein. in that way does the body recognise them as carbs? or just the fact that
it "also" releases the equvilant insulin spike?

in that vain then, how are plant proteins rated on a GI scale? cos they are harder to break down are they considered to be incredibly low GI?
