Finding it very hard to make any natural gains makes you a hard-gainer, which means it's EXTREMELY easy for you to overtrain. If you're lifting 3-4 days a week, and churning out 12+ sets total each workout, that's overtraining for a hard-gainer. Post up your current routine.

For your appetite, eat smaller meals more often. Force the food down you - if necessary blend it all up and drink it. How many calories are you getting each day, and where are they coming from? Post up your diet.

With your current diet and training routine posted, people will be able to give you advice on exactly what to do. There's no sense in pounding down copious amounts of drugs and risking your health because you can't/won't eat properly.
