Hay Jock I agree with you, it is impossible to lose fat and gain muscle at teh same time (under 'normal' circumstances). Depending on which way you look at it, some of us are lucky in that we start of quite thin and lean, and although it takes a lot of hard work and masticating, can gain muscle cleanly, albeit slowly. I have to admit I think I prefer a long slow gain and always looking lean than having to bulk and cut in cycles. And I agree, carbs seem to tast so much better after a couple of months of dieting...
