Re: IOC pressuring UK to criminalize personal use of steroids

Fortunatlely its something thats largley swept under the carpet in the UK, like masturbating in as much as everyone does it but no one talks about it. I doubt its really considered a problem by Whitehall, I mean when was the last time you heard of a BB mugging an old lady to buy steroids?

That said Im not sure how much of a burden criminalization would be to todays target driven police, although most users are very secretive in comparison to rec drug users it could become another case of easy pickings for plod.

An example of this is its well known that police hang round train station exits with a sniffer dog, all they really catch are students and commuters with a bit of personal, but on paper its a drugs bust nonetheless, a crime has been solved and punishment has been dealt, and so another target gets met.

As far as international pressure goes I dont think we have anything to worry about from the DEA, the recent reclassification of weed had nothing to do with them. Besides our two countries rely heavily for eachother for support on the war on terror, any pressure levered on the other is just token to keep parliament/congress happy.
