they stick a nice pic of a pro bodybuilder on it,nice tub, pick a name out of a biology book to do with protein or energy and stretch the name and use it as the new product name then...this is the good part...grab the run of the mill ingredients...which are not tested scientifically...there are only 1 to 2 companies out there that use peer reviewed scientific journals to prove/back up their product is safe and works!!!
there is not really a regulatory board to monitor standards etc...only the WHO and the FDA,who are not much involved, because i was asking the manager of GNC in uxbridge about the laws n regulations and he said there are virtaully none, not even an under 18 warning on tho products...but they state you have to have at least the first five ingredients in your product in the correct amounts, then after that...who knows whats in your protein tub...if you want to know one company that definately has been approved is...by dr.scott connelly, who devised his own product and had it tested and verified by his university peers, the company... is METRX,think he is retired now...but its is used in some american hospitals for patients recovering from eating disorders and burns...and involved in severe muscle wasting and aids/hiv cases!!!!
but to be honest...none of these companies would go that far to get their product tested and reviewed by scientific testing...too many flawsof health n safety would be found...remember,they are business people,in the making money game!!!
saying that...there are some good products out there and i'm not trying to be a deterrent chap...i just want you to be more aware!!!!
i got my friend who worked in nuclear medicine at hammersmith hospital to test my body fortress creatine i had problems with years ago...and he said that 42% of it was a fine flour,38% bicarbonate soda and the rest was 9% glucose mixed with 11% of a very low grade creatine...not very pure at all...maybe a lot of products like even pharmaceutical grade drugs do have a certain room for placebo effect!!!!
its not hard to have that happen...i know of people who have rolled up strong rolling tobbaco and gave it to their mates after a spliff and said this stuff is good, slightly weak but does the job...you have entered the thought into the mid...and pschology works wonders...the chap because previous experience and knows the effect of the drug, experienced a mild effect...placebo's do have a place in science!!!
sorry drifted off the issue...be careful what you buy, just be sure, knowledgable and safe!!!!
keep training hard!!!!! | Good post.
