I think in general the use of steroids has a negative stigma in society.
It is bad enough Joe public thinks many of us are drug addicts anyway.
Joe Public would not accept any reason for us to use gear.
I would be upset enough trying to explain to others my use yet alone defend myself to another person that is on sterods suggesting that I or someone else not use.

End of the day, we all have our own reason's and nobody's reason's are better than anyone else's with the exception of a medical one.
