You have no idea how much I agree with this post.
Food sources for protein are totally preferred, I can give a list of reasons and that will be a good list too....lol
I also feel that many prioritize way too much protein in your diets, I honestly dont feel it is needed.

If you are going to base your protein on bodyweight, it would be lean mass, not total bodyweight.
Protein supports lean tissue.
Protein is the least efficient fuel source there is, making that prefrence in the body only compromises your energy stores.
