I'm in my last year of school, and I disagree with this. some of the best teachers I have are intellectuals who do not really interact with the class. They know the stuff so well that they tell you the really important stuff and it sticks.

I have been in classes where I have got on well with the teacher and done well, but that may because you 'try' more because you like that person, and so it is not a true reflection of the teacher.

by the way nathan, just wondering, do you go to a private school or state school. not that i hold prejudices at all, your posts just made it seem like you do?!
