3 x 3 minutes easy cardio is going to get shot of about 1/3lb of fat per week max if diet is the same as it was before
the requirements for getting cut:
Heavy weight training
calorie deficit with the manipulation of calories and mainly carbs
some cardio work
time
If he falls foul of the above then the end result is jeopardised for most
