| Re: Competition prep Im still experimenting with the number of sets and reps with my training. For the last 6 weeks I have been pyramid sets. For example for chest I will do 4 different exericises, 4 sets for each using reps 15, 12, 10, 8 with maybe a drop set on the last set. It feels good as the 15 and 12 rep sets give you a good pump and then the 10 and 8 rep sets really work the muscle, especially with the drop set.
It doesnt work for everyone but you dont know until you try it.
