MXD - the comment about protein synthesis is correct if you just havent finished an intense workout. I would challenge you to find ANY competitive bber natural or assisted that would agree that 30g is sufficent after a workout. Also wont the dextrose produce glycogen as well blunting protein synthesis? Are you sure you're not getting mixed up with gluconeogenesis?

Not bothered about studies at all, anecdotal evidence from people in the field and my own experience tells me that 30g just doesnt cut it after a workout.
