I own a 360 but hardly use it. I would like a PS3, but then, I would hardly use it.

One point I will make about using the PS3 as a BD player is that I've been through a couple of PS2's and original XBOX's that were used primarily as DVD players - I also know friends who've had the same with 360's. They just die quickly if you use them that much. I'd be concerned that the PS3 would go the same way.
