Re: Weighing scale

It makes sense in that your machine is not functioning correctly. Here what it is saying...

Body Type: Athletic
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Height: 5ft 7in
Weight: 12st 11. 0lb

Bmi: 28.0

bmi = Body mass index. A simple calculation based on the ratio of your weight to height. It is the most basic way of determining whether someone is overweight or not, but takes no account of whether the weight is muscle or fat, so is basically useless when used in athletic populations.

Bmr: 7791 kj
1862 kcal

BMR = basal metabolic rate. This is the amount of calories your body burns each day when at total rest, in your case 1,862.

Impendence: 269

A measure of how much resistance your bosdy makes to the electric current used in scales such as these. Its how the machine works out your bodyfat level, as fat and muscle have differing levels of resistance to current.

Fat% 3.0%
The machine says you have 3% bodyfat. It's wrong, sorry....unless of course you have that Munzered look about you right now?

Fat mass: 5.4 lb

3% bodyfat equates to 5.4lbs of fat mass.

Ffm: 12st 5.6 lb

Leaving you with 12st 5.6lb of fat free mass.

Tbw: 9st 1.0 lb

Your target bodyweight at a height of 5'7, accoding to the BMI scale, is 9st 1lb. Like i said, BMI scale is a joke.

These scales are notoriously inaccurate, use a proper bodystat machine or bod-pod, or get a skilled person to do a skinfold caliper test to find your bodyfat level etc, much more accurate.

Cheers,

G
