it appears you've got some signs of damage to the other joints behind your disc- the facet joints he referred to. for this reason movements like deads and squats should be considered with caution as these joints, in simple terms, help keep you upright. if you aggrevate them further you'll put yourself at risk of other degenerative dieseases of the spine (some spondylosing arthropathies as thier collectively known as).

Only a physio could give you sound advice regarding your question mate.
