Nah i have to disagree i think on deadlifts no straps should be used at least for part of the work out, why miss out on all that good forearm building ext, straps change the movement and it becomes much more of a leg movement for most people.
Personally i like to be able to actually use some of my gym power in real life and it just so happens grip power is one of the most commonly used powers.
