Not so much cross breeding mate, more a seperate breed of mastiff.
When a breed is pure bred to then produce another breed with different qualities, I see nothing wrong.
Such as breeds, presa, argos, even the pit bull is a cross originally.
But to cross a breed just for fun, or for cost, or just idleness I don't agree with.
Basically, if it's done by professional breeders for show or for a decent reason then yes, by some bloke down the pub to earn a few quid from pups then no.
Like i said, I've been asked on a few occasions to cross my Akita, with a rottie, mastiff and a cane corso, but I refused as I just cannot see the point in the pups, apart from to sound like a "hard" cross, or to make a few quid, but the only bitch I'd let him breed with would be a show quality Akita, as that's what he is.
For the record, I do like presa's. Seriously thinking of one once the kiddies are a bit older, as I don't want a boisterous pup around the toddlers, but once they are old enough then yes.
I tried to import a Dogos Argos (There is a seperate thread on the issue somewhere) but I was not allowed as they are banned. Even though there has never been one on these shores.....wtf???
