Agree with Paul here. I recall many people taking the salvage back themselves only to find they were not happy with the repairs. At this stage the insurers have washed their hands of it and wont want to know.

Cat Ds are only good if you can pick them up for peanuts and have them fixed for a similar amount / you don't plan to sell. As said above you will tend to have problems with them which will just frustrate you...
