theres a lot of things that can go wrong with the knee, taking into account your job it would seem to be work related............carpet fitters used to get a form of house maidsknee from use of the kicker

a good physio is more able to suggest exactly whats causing the problem (the x ray wont show much - a scan too could help), it could be an inflamed bursa or a lot of other things
