| Re: waxy maize strach The best thing to do is mix your WMS with some hydrolysed whey protein - this stuff is partially digested and tastes like one of those bitter generic horlicks-style drinks. I actually quite like it to be honest and it makes an awesome PWO shake. Through in your creatine and aminos and away you go. Don't mix in any other carbs or isolate or normal whey as this will upset the osmotic balance that the wms creates in your stomach (and enables the fast absorption); because HWP is already partially digested it's light enough not to upset the WMS.
Otherwise, just stick to taking your whey 20mins later; it's a pain in the ****, I know 'cos I've run out of HWP and have to do exactly the same, but at least you end up getting the best of both the carbs and the protein.
