Yeah its shocking but you can buy them over the counter. I bought a load home from Egypt a couple of years ago. Its always good to befriend a local as they get it cheaper for you.
Sust usually works out about 50p a shot where is can be much more over here............crazy business eh!!!!
But yes you can just ask for it over the counter - they do not question you at all and you can have as much as you like within reason. But remember when bringing back to UK you can only get away with enough for saying its for your personal use.
