I am relatively inexperienced but have been in the same boat as you, and to some extent still trying to get out of it! The principle I have been taught is that you should train to build muscle and the fat will take care of itself. This is based on:
Big lean muscles require more energy, thereore burining more calories. The trianing itself requires lots of energy /cals
Muscle recovery and repair requires a lot of energy, which burns calories while you sleep.
What I have done over the last year is stay more or less the same weight, but have changed shape considerably in all the right areas. |
