As far as I know creatine is useful for the workout, but doesn't necessarily aid muscle building afterwards. I've taken monohydrate for quite a long time but decided to stop because I don't think it's particularly good for you. I've just started taking CEE tablets, just before workouts. You can take much less (supposedly) of CEE for the same effect so it should be less harmful to the liver and kidneys.
Does creatine work? I believe it does for me. On creatine an extra couple of extra reps and perhaps the next plate on a machine up can be expected.
