First things first you need to schedule them in and train them like other muscle groups.

I too neglected my abs (Now rectified).

What I do is:

Cable push down crunches
Leg raises on a chin bar or smith machine
Normal sit ups and crunches

I do this twice a week and can already see a difference. Remember that fat levels are key to abs though...............
