Re: Lower bck pain, again!

Sounds similar to my back pain. Just above the glute by any chance? I have a weak core which lead me to damage ligaments in my back. I'm slowly recovering a year on. I don't do back squats any more, just stick to front squats and my legs are coming along nicely. Deads are still a little way a way, but I've started doing extremely light S/L deads again.

Sounds to me like you over did it with the squats - even though they were light. I'd stick to front squats for the time being.

You have to strengthen your core otherwise you are going to do that same thing again. See a good physio if you can or research core strengthening.

My physio told me to basically brace myself with every lift, bend, twist and turn. Suck in and tense the lower abs and almost clench your buttocks - this will stabilise your core taking the emphasise away from your lower back - which is more than likely taking the strain. This should prevent the injured or weak area from being put under pressure/strain. Once your core is strengthen this kind of bracing will become natural.
