Just a little rant on how people should NOT behave in the gym, these examples and there is many more can usually take the form of some kind of intimidation in the gym.
Remember your average joe see's a large bodybuilder and assume hes a steroid munching rough, thick, violent, thug (especially if your a big bald git like me

) of course we are not. We are just normal people prepared to go through a lot of pain and sacrifice to look our best. So why confirm these peoples views by acting in a thuggish way in the gym?.
STRUTTING AROUND CARRYING INVISABLE CARPETS
Are we on a catwalk? walking like a carpet fitter around the gym doesnt make you look any bigger.
Yeah it does make me look bigger thats why I do it, and that why competative bodybuilders do it.
BIG GROUPS OF 3 OR MORE
why do you need to huddle together on one machiene/equipment? you spend too long in between sets when there is too many of you, and you end up hogging it for too long. Less of the of the chin wagging about how many people you knocked out on the weekend and get on with the training.
Who are you telling to get on with the training? Dont forget pal, I am big and strong and obviously what I'm doing is working well for me. You on the other hand are small and puny and need to learn how to lift properly. And 1st lesson is not to tell somone better than yourself how to do it..........
SLAMMING/DROPPING WEIGHTS if you want to make that type of noise then join a brass band, if you cant lift it put it back down yourself then lower the amount of weight. Or do you want everyone in the building to know just how big the dumbells are you have just lifted by dropping them on the floor?
Trust me no-one will be impressed.
1. I dont do it to impress people, I do it because I lift so hard and heavy and train to COMPLETE failure (Something you are incapable off), taht I have no option but drop em at the end of a set. 2. The weight I lift does impress people it has obviously made an impression on you, but because of your JEALOUSY you try and put me down in any feeble way you can.
SHOUTING/SCREAMING DURING SESSION this can also take the form of shouting swahelli(or simillar languages) during a lift. The louder you shout does not equal the harder you train, it just means you shout a lot. Train hard intense and quiet.
Again you are trying to tell me how to train properly, if I want to shout cause phycologically it helps me lift more then I will. You on the other hand have not learned taht at this level you NEED to do anything to help your lifts.
INTIMIDATING OTHER (USUALLY SMALLER) PEOPLE OFF EQUIPMENT
One word BULLYING.
Every one has a right to use the equipment.
If David Beckham wanted to show you and yer mates some tricks while you were having a game of football would you lend him your ball? When I use the machines you should be glad you got the opportunity to watch me and maybe even learn how to use the thing properly. JEEZ some people are so ungrateful
SHADOW BOXING IN THE MIRROR BETWEEN SETS????
Oh dear! what are you doing?
I am shadow boxing in the mirror thats what I am doing, cause you only have the bottle to do it at home behind closed doors does not mean I have too aswell. And the more I do it the better the boxer I become, its called practising and you need to do that if you want to ever be good at ANYTHING.
Train hard, intense, quietly and respect others in the gym!!
