Core work would definately have supported this area, but Iwonder if your technique was spot on too?
Rest it for a few days and see how you go, I am sure it will go with rest.

Cheers buddy, Technique should be pretty spot on as im a qualifed personal trainer, need to get a mirror in the garage to double check though, i do need to stretch more, just worried that it may spark off my old injury.
