Its ok you haven't done anything wrong you just need time to get used to it probably a month or more.
Keep training hard and the DOMS won't be as bad as you adapt.
IN the meantime, heat application, massage and as an absolute last resort pain killers may help.

By the way, lunges are a great exercise, but really eccentric on your quads so are prone to causing sever DOMS. Try leg press, or squats till you get used to lifting.
