I found dextrose and maltodextrin made me feel bloated and gave me a dodgy belly so I switched over to WMS straight away and found all my problems solved; I didn't feel the need for a gradual change-over.

The problem with mixing WMS with dextrose is that WMS has a very low osmolality (a low level of osmotically active particles) whereas dextrose is the opposite (which is why WMS gets absorbed quicker than dextrose). This, therefore, interrupts the osmotic gradient that the WMS creates in your stomach and thus negates the benefits of it.

Whilst it isn't technically a sugar WMS can still cause an insulin spike, but as you're taking it PWO this helps to shuttle nutrients around your system quickly, which is kind of what you need anyway.

I even use WMS as an energy drink during my workout without any adverse effects; I also take some for my Karate sessions and have certainly noticed an increase in my energy levels.

So, go ahead, dive in to some lovely WMS - it tastes like cornflour but just keep reminding yourself that it's good for you. Get it from myprotein.co.uk where it's only £5.99 Kg at the moment and use referrer code MP16886 to get yourself 5% discount.
