| BenJ, I see your point with different heads. However, the muscle still contracts as a whole. Try it yourself, even with bis that have 2 heads try to flex one without the other. There is only a slight difference in length of the heads by turning the wrist, both will still contract. The pecs have less variation in position and as this is the cse the force is spread evenly throughout. I want contest the fact that there is a minor degree of targeting caused by varied angles, but this is so minimal as to be generally un-noticable. The point I'm making here is that there is no need to hammer all angles in every training session as this would just be hitting the same muscle over and over. After this thread I'm considering swapping my flat bench to incline for a period of 6 weeks as an experiment. Once I take pics (hopefully this weekend) I can gauge progress. Taking into account the fact I'll still be on cycle and will be cutting may not be the best conditions for this, but at the least it would be worth investigating. |
