Get yourself a photo editing software package.

I use adobe photoshop, but there are many free ones about.

Save it as a gif file.

Resize it to around 400 x 400 pixels if you want to post it to here, crop of any edges that you dont need and save it as a gif (most programs have a "save for web" feature which will tell you the new size, etc)
