Yah, you can back off of them or just select ones that are very low in the GI that have some fiber in them like vegetables and some fruits.
Berries, apples, asperagrus, broccoli, turnips, hell even lettice

Just try and stay away from breads, pasta, all refined carbohydrates, sugar, hydrogenated oils and trans fats.
If you can do that you will have it 90% licked.
Keep the protein up there some too.
Take some good fats like fish oils.
Once in a while a good intestinal cleansing is recommended.
