Milk is a fast carbohydrate. Diabetics can only drink 4 oz a meal.
I have a hard time with milk for rehydration after a serious work-out.. It is too thick and creamy and sticks in my throat and sits heavy on my stomach and makes me more thirsty.

But I can see how it could be considered a good alternative to sports drinks. It contains protein and has a fast GI, GL, II.

It just doesnt' satisfy my thirst and isn't for me after a hard work-out.

Interesting post.
I love chocolate milk fortified with chocolate whey and Instant Breakfast for breakfast.

Seems that the things our grandparents ate are coming back into vogue and have value.

I like that for some reason.
