When I trained shoulders - I did one pressing movement (with the bench positioned as you have described) then I follow this with rows/flyes/shrugs etc. I know guys who train shoulders and sit bolt upright but I think its 'horses for courses' mate. If you hitting the desired muscle group and you feel its a solid workout stick with it.
