because of time and money crap, they would rather pass you off with some anti-inflammatories,tabs or cream!!!
when you go back to the docs...you have to bullsh*t your way through...really exaggerate the pain all the while your there, and say you cant lift things up for everyday life, its hurting whilst trying to lye on that side etc etc...you get the picture...diclofenac are not pain killers, they are anti-imflamms!!!!!
get yourself another appointment, and get ready for the exaggeration, cos thats the only way you will get anything out of the people..not saying this is the way to do things, but when you tell doctors about self inflicted injuries at the gym, they dont seem to care!!!!
a physio is trained and a specialist in that field, they will pinpoint your injury, and explain to you what it is!!!!!
funny thing is...as soon as we get a shoulder injury...we all say oh its the rotator cuff...but there are many more parts and bicep, tricep, chest and various other muscle and tendon insertions that attach to the shoulder...so dont guess it,get down to the docs, and get the physio's professional opinion...
i've been 3 times for my shoulder and each time they have helped me rehabilitate it...and have just finished with physio for my 3rd shoulder injury a coupla weeks ago...all different type of pain/injuries to the same area, but pretty much similar symptons!!!
but each time i've had great advices, help and rehab exercises and most important, time to rest...otherwise you'll be back to square one or none!!!!
keep training on a damaged bodypart,if its tendon(sinewy related)...it'll progressively get worse til your fcuked basically...and you need your shoulder not just for training but you want it for after retirement too(same with any other bodypart)!!!
good luck mate...get well soon!!! |
Alright ant, cheers for your detailed reply.
He really ****ed me off down at the docs today, he basically asked me what my symtoms were, then had a little play around my arm and then prescribed me that medication.
Ive got myself another appointment booked now so hopefully he should refer me next time round.
It is slowly getting better from doing the rotator cuff exersizes which i have found off the net but i would still like to seek a professional opinion.
Would you recommend that i dont train full stop? or go easy and avoid training anything that puts strain on the injured part??
Cheers all,
Ste
